  1. im really new to this whole thing but i hope somone will take a bit of time to give me a hand.
i downloaded a video clip, used virtualDub to extract the .wav.
i then used TMPGEnc to convert the file into the correct VCD format,
i then burned it with nero as a VCD.
    i had no problems.
upon inserting it into my standalone DVD player i had very nice Video byt no audio. i read the forums and downloaded GoldWave, this file DOES have audio according to GoldWave.

this has worked for me in the past, using the same steps so i know im doing it right.

also the videos have audio when i play then in a media player,as well i am running WindowsXP home edition,if it matters.
    Thank you

Can you hear the audio when you play it with Gold Wave? Just trying to make sure it is your file and not your program or hardware.

If you load the AVI as it is into TMPGEnc then select Setting > Audio > Use audio edit > Setting > Play

    Can you hear it ?

It may help to install the Nimo codec pack, just incase you have an audio codec problem.

Well that sounds correct, and it plays ok in TMPGEnc, so I guess there is nothing wrong with your save.

Did you "Load" and load a VCD template ? This makes all the settings for you.

    Then;

    Browse > Video > AVI
    Browse > Audio > WAV

    START

Stop after a min or so, and test output

  11. CryptKeeper, yes thats how i extracted the audio in Vdub.as well i think it was AVI,but it coulda been Mpeg,i erased the originals because i though this would work so i cannot check.
KingJohn: I didnt use a template but i did use the page "www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm" as i have done before, but this time it didnt work correctly.thanks again

  13. well as my experience tell me
if you have audio and no picture maybe you frame size isnīt 352*240(ntsc) or 352*288(pal) for vcd standards more your bitrate isnīt 1150 kbps CBR
you must verify all the video settings, if ok must burn with another program like CDRDAO (TRY VCDEASY)
