    is it possible to put svcd or vcd into a dvd-r and let the dvd player read it as svcd or vcd. why this so i can put a whole lot of video into.

    No it is not possible(maybe if you hack your own firmware to your dvdplayer). You could though author it as dvd with no reencoding of the video www.vcdhelp.com/author#dvd

    Remember that you can use lower bitrate and also lower resolutions to store more on a dvd... www.kvcd.net has some good dvd templates for storing several hours / dvdr.
