    Hi,
Super VideoCDS are created similar to VideoCDS and in order to retrieve the mpeg file from a vcd you have to process its image or mpeg file in Vcdgear.

The question I have how do I turn the mpg file or image of a Super VideoCD disk back into its original mpeg file?

Can I use VCDgear and if so which options should I use?

  2. You are giving that option in vcdgear. There is a list to choose from all you have to do is choose the option that says dat---->mpeg. I recommend copying that dat file to your hard drive first because it takes much longer if you try to do it from the cd.

This is the option is for a VCD dat file not for a Super Video CD as the dat file is now a mpeg file called AVSEQ01.MPG this is not recognised by Vcdgear by default.

Demulti-plexing with something like TMPEnc does not appear to produce the same output file.

    i.e orignal mpeg 807,037KB demuxed
    video.m2v 715,947 KB CRC 6EA369C7
    video.mp2 73,830 KB CRC 9B780167

Super Video CD mpeg 816,898KB Demuxed
    AVSEQ01.m2v 715,947 KB CRC 91D44E89
    AVSEQ01.mp2 73,830 KB CRC 9B780167

Although the files appear to be the same on looking at there CRC's you find some changes have occured to the video stream after it been recorded to the SuperVideo CD. I want to produce a similar file to the orginal one.

    How do I do this?
