  1. i've just started making my own VCD's, but i have one problem, every time i make one, it always turns out fullscreen, even though the original file is in widescreen (which results in a distorted, warped picture)

please, how do i make the movie in widescreen with nero burning room (is there an option that i can't find) , thanks

Pay attention to the aspect ratio, you have yours set at "Full screen" this needs to be changed to "Full screen, keep aspect ratio" this will preserve the black borders at the top and bottom. You can then zoom on your wide screen TV to get a good picture.

  7. Read this:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencexplained.htm

a very good explanation of most (but not all) settings in TMPGEnc
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  8. When using TPMG, you can change the aspect ratio. I have had very good luck with Full Screen (keep aspect ratio 2). It seems to work well with clips that are a little odd size. I usually encode to SVCD for most of my stuff anyway. I like the better resolution.

Also, remember to select Preview from the File menu to see exactly what the finished results will look like.
