I did some searching but didnt find what I was looking for.
I am capturing off a SVHS tape so my AVIs have tracking on the bottom and a small vertical black bar on the sides. I need to crop these off. I assume this will need to be done while the file is still an AVI so it wont lose its quality. I am using Premier or VirtualDub.
Thanks!
Ty

in virtual dub select filters then select null transform, this allows you to use the cropping function on the bottom right

within VD, you can also select other filters and tweaks to make your encoding better like colors etc....

When I capture in vdub I can adjust the offset of my video vertically and hroizontally and this usually gets rid of the trash line at the bottom of the screen and any bars on the sides!
Go to Video>source and see if you have an offset adjustment function of some sort...Big_Jit -
But how do I crop a already captured AVI? Can I do it the same way?
I am using VD to set the frameserver to put my subtitle on the video while it is being compressed. Could I have it cropped (as a filter) at the same time i am using the subtitle filter? -
Just load the Null Transform Filter in VD and click on Cropping...
