  1. NOTE: Skipfully = LOTS of skips

All right, I got a dumbass friend who told me to encode all my DVD-RIPS that I download into 1500KBit+ MPGs with TmpgENC...

    Original File Lenght: 60minutes (EXACT)

I Did.... Now when I OPEN the file into Real Media Player Gold, the file turns to 1 Hour 17 Minutes and plays very SKIPFULLY...., when I play with MEdia Player, it stays same... (60 minutes)......

When I BURN It using Nero Burning Room 5.82 (latest), my dvd palyer shows lenght as 71 minutes (1 hor 1 minute....) and plays it SKIPFULLY....

So what BIT rate would I use to keep my quality high?? my player DOES support XVCDS, its the Panasonic RV31 Player....

ANY HELS WOULD HELP, cuz I believed my dumbas friend and ecoded about 20 movies b4 burnin.... I dont wanna re do em all. Thanks!

the standard bitrate for VCD is 1150,so any DVD player is going to report the length as over 60 minutes, that's normal if you use a bitrate over 1150. What do you mean "skipfully" ?

  3. skipfully, as i said at the very top of my msg, means LOTS of skips...

and I am NOT making a vcd, i am making an XVCD (custom bit rates), and my dvd player supports up to 2500!!

Also... I encoded a movie before at about 1250 kbit, and the lenght was still the same and no skips were seen in the dvd player, but when i put the bit rate this high as friggin 1500+, this is what happens....

An XVCD is nothing but a VCD encoded at a bitrate higher than 1150. There's nothing magical about it. I have encoded VCD(XVCD) at bitrates of 2250 and frame sizes of 720 x 480 and they play just fine. You say that these are downloaded rips. Do they play OK as downloaded?

did you maybe encode a pal source as ntsc or vice versa?
    btw...71 minutes is 1 hour 11 minutes...unless there's a new math system I'm unaware of
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

  6. I know what an xvcd is...
and like I said, if i encode an XVCD at anything higher than 1200. My dvd player starts to skip (panasonic rv31)
I have real meda player installed and widnwos media palyer...

the 60 hour PERFECT avi movie will read as 60 minute in media player, as 77 in real media player gold, and 71 minutes (1 hour 11 minutes (missed a 1)) in my dvd player...) these added seconds/minutes casues it to SKIP....

so how do i fix this in tmpg, do i need to set another option or soemthin?
cuz all i do is LOAD as vcd, Unlock, chnage bitrate, start conversion

motion accuracy is set as normal by the way
