I have successfully captured 352x288 from VHS tape using VirtualDub via an AVER TV98 card. I get 25 fpm without dropping frames, and my overclocked 300/450 MHz Celeron does not even break a sweat. This is using Huffyuv as explained in http://www.vcdhelp.com/mjpeg.htm
Last night I attempted to capture an old tape, of poor quality. I could not get above 16 fpm, dropping 40% of frames. I though there was something wrong with my settings, but could not make it work.
However, when I tried a good quality tape, it worked perfectly! Can someone explain this, and tell me how to get the capture to work??
TIA

On bad sources you may need a time base corrector. I have a Sigma TBC
and it works very nicely.
