  1. Hello,

I usually encode DVD (NTSC film) using TMPEG. But I prefer using CCE coz it's so much faster. But, as you all know CCE doesn't support pulldown. So, after I encode with CCE, I ran pulldown.exe on the m2v file. However, after authoring with I-author and burning the cif, I couldn't play it with my Philips standalone SVCD player. The picture was simply jumbled up, but I could hear the sound. (If I fastforward I could see the picture)

I suspected that it was the bitrate, because when I muxed it with I-Author, there was a warning of out-of-sync / high bitrate. Indeed, when I ran bitrate viewer to the m2v file, it peaked at 3100kbps.

Now, I am not sure about this, coz TMPEG had never given me this kind of problem, even though I-author gave me the same warning when I muxed it. Anybody please help?

  2. I don't know what your problem is, but I've had no problem using pulldown - just make sure that you input 23.976 fps video to CCE (I use DVD2AVI with Force FILM or TMPGEnc/IVTC/VFAPI as input). I also burn with Nero, not I-Author, but I doubt that I-Author can't handle 3:2 pulldown.
You might try picking up the latest pulldown and try it.
You might also get Teco's bitrate viewer and look at the m2v before and after pulldown to insure that Teco says the frame rates are correct (www.tecoltd.com).
