get 2 Y splitter cables - female rca to male rca
regular male to male rca cable(which you should have already from your sat)
and a rca male to headphone jack(the small one - which will fit into the line in of your sound card)

if you got any questions let me know

  7. from what I've read in a few threads here

some capture to avi(uncompressed) then convert that to mpeg

reason is that the quality will be very nice in the avi

tho I capture directly to mpeg-1
    and then split the file
if it's too large for 1 cd

    settings for my capture are

    mpeg-1
    352x240 resolution(NTSC)
    224kbps audio
    29.97fps
1150000 bitrate or closest to it

    hi,

use virtualdub to capture, and compress the video as you are capturing depends on your pc.

i have an old p3 450mhz and capture avi through my rave card at about 14meg/minute(audio is pcm thats why the size is so big)
