  1. I generated a menu image with VCDEasy from a .psd (Photoshop file). When I play the VCD in PowerDVD, everything works fine - The number keys play the appropriate videos, and they run fine, etc. The problem is that the menu has a big green bar through the middle of it. On my standalone DVD player, the menu looks even worse - It's not even recognizable. Any ideas? (It's a JVC XV-523 if that helps)

Oh, and I've loaded the menu mpeg file in WIMP, and it looks fine.

  2. I'd recommend saving the image file as a bmp/jpg first, then making a MPEG still from it in VCDEasy. I haven't had any problems with it doing it that way. Do you have a specific reason for using .psd files?

  3. I have had problems in the past when the image-mode was set to something other than RGB color.
In Photoshop have a look , it may be set to CMYK color mode.
There may also be extra layers in the image that are not needed and can be deleted.

    Hope this helps.....

  4. Hi all,

I had a similar problem, except VCD stills were fine, and a few SVCD stills too, but all of a sudden, VCDeasy wouldnt generate SVCD stills properly any more. the file size of the SVCD stills is also smaller, around 55k, where the other stills i successfully generated (SVCD) were about 150k. this is with exactly the same quality settings as before.

i am baffled. tried to get the updated MJpeg stills version from the VCDeasy website but it was "temporarily unavailable" for almost a week now.

im gettin a little bit frustrated now! hehe

  5. Thanks for the help. Converting from a bmp helped on PowerDVD, but it would seem that my standalone player just flat out doesn't like VCD menus. I've tried pal, ntsc, 4/3 aspect ratio, no aspect ratio. Getting tired of wasting discs, so I'm admitting defeat to my player.
