  1. Hi,

Does anyone know of a utility that will allow you to send multiple AVIs to a DV Camcorder (Via firewire) on Win 98SE?

I'm suffering from the 4gig file limit, and have to send multiple AVIs to my camera if the video(s) I create are longer than about 20 mins. The problem is: as soon as I send the second file, my camera rewinds about 20 frames - not to mention when I send the file to the camera - it starts recording +/- 5 or 10 frames too soon/ late.

If there's a utility to "chain" all of them together, it'd save my sanity.

Further info: I'm using Ulead Media Studio Pro 6.0.

    Thanks.

Well you can do this with Premiere by just putting the files on the timeline and using the output to tape function. You can output up to 3 hrs which is well beyond your tape limit.

I haven't tested it, but I believe ULEAD VideoStudio6 will do the same thing. Put your separate files on the time line, then output to the camera.

  3. Scenalizer Live is a great tool for this, just select all files and upload them to the camcorder
It's also a great tool for capturing (scene detection included)

  4. Thanks a lot for that Eric and Leo.

The "timeline" option in Media Studio pro seems to create an AVI before going to tape (hence will still hit the 4 gig limit).

But: Scenalyzer... wow! What an application! That did the trick (and a whole lot more).

This app really should get a proper mention on this site.... it is to digital video capture what Virtual Dub is for Analogue capture.
