Scantily-Staffed Call Center Seeks Nudists

ROTTERDAM (Reuters) - Fancy working in the nude? Some 75 Dutch naturists have already jumped at the chance.

They answered an advert placed in Dutch daily De Telegraaf for a call center firm that was finding it hard to fill staff vacancies through conventional channels because of a tight labor market in the Netherlands.

The advert cheekily asked: "Always wanted to work in the nude?"

"In an office job like a call center worker, it doesn't matter what you wear because the client does not see you. It's a small step from there to working naked," the firm said in a statement.

The firm has not been named for fear of offending existing clients.

Director Michel Voulon told Reuters the response to the advert had been excellent and said the aim would be to launch "Au Nature Telesales" as a separate unit of the Rotterdam business in September.

"We've had about 75 responses in four hours. With a normal call center, you'd be lucky to get one or two an hour. And the quality of the candidates has been very good," Voulon said.

Applicants -- fully-clothed -- would now be interviewed.

"They'll be normal interviews," said Voulon. "We're just businessmen, not naturists."
