Hi Guys
I've been trying to convert a high qiality Divx of the 13-Ghosts film to VCD format.
The original Divx file had a problem whereby 58mins into the film the audio shifted by nearly a second.
Using TMPEnc I split the file into 2, and adjusted the audio by -750ms in the second part.
I then used TMPEnc to join the 2 files together and the movie now plays fine on my PC.
The file size of the file is 778MB and I'm using VCDEasy to burn a VCD in the normal way to an 80Min CD.
The problem is that although the original TMPEnc'ed file is only 778MB, VCD Easy reports that the VCD file will be >900mb and so won't fit onto a single CD.
Any ideas why this has happened as when I originally burnt the uncut/joined image to CD it fitted fine (But had the audio shift in the second part of the film). It's only since I cut & joined the file that VCD is reporting the increase in file size.
Any help greatly appreciated![]()

Awwww....come on guys, I vcan't be the only person who's had this problem.......or am I ?

VCD format = 10Mb per min, if you want it smaller, use a lower bitrate when encoding. This then produces an XVCD (non-compliant VCD) and it will also lose some quality.

Hi there
Many thanks for the reply.
The original burn I did was fine, and fitted onto 1 x 80min CD, so the bitrate is ok.
the probs appeared since I split the file in 2 and then rejoined.
After conversion with TMPEnc the file size is still fine (778mb) so in theory it should fit fine to an 80min CD, but when I use VCDEasy the VCD image then goes up to over 900mb.
I've thought about re-encoding the whole filr again - but would this ruine the quality as it would then have been converted twice ?
