  1. Hi I'm new to all this so I read the instructions for converting AVI, DV, DivX, ASF, MOV, nAVI, SMR, WMV to VCD MPEG at http://vcdhelper.com/tmpgenc.htm

After converting my .avi file, I found that there was no sound so I went on to read 'How to convert the audio in a video to a wav' at http://vcdhelper.com/virtualdubaudio.htm

Downloaded Virtualdub, followed the instructions, tried to save the WAV but I get the errors 'ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format' and 'AVIOutputWAV: The handle is invalid'.

So I downloaded dBpowerAMP Music Converter and tried using it, but it goes 'Select Music File(s) To Convert' and my .avi file isn't on the list.

What do I do now? How can I convert the audio in my .avi file to a .wav file?

    Any help is appeciated!

  2. They way that I do DivX to WAV, is as the audio is compressed in divx ,virtual dub say it can not handle the "save as wav".

So using the decompress tool that comes in AVI2VCD, run the avi though that (3-4mins) then load the new avi that it creates into virtual dub and click "save as wav"

Seem to work a treat, may not be the quickest way of doing it, but it works.
