no picture!!!

i converted dvds to vcds fine.... now i want to convert some of my divx movies...i can extract my audio and it plays but once i get to tmpgenc (sp?)... i follow all the steps and when it is done, there is sound but no picture.... it isnt even there when i go to source range even from the beginning! help!

With divx alot of the media and or audio is compressed. and Tmpegnc cant corret that. u need to decompress the file first and separate the audio and video then convert to mpeg-1

Go to http://www.svcd.cc/ from simple steps on how to convert.

Here's what I do to get the sound from AVI files

Load the AVI into VirtualDub.
Pull the Audio Menu down to "Full processing mode".
Pull the File Menu down to "Save WAV". This will split the audio track off from the movie.
Open WAV Converter. Click on "Wav setting" and set it to 44,100, select the Save folder.
Click on "Start" and load the WAV file VirtualDub saved.

Always check the file->preview and you could also make a short test mpg with tmpgenc before encoding the entire movie. If you do not get any picture try increase the directshow prirority and reopen the divx

Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4
