    Hi, thanks for reading this..

I recently downloaded a very popular 3CD-SVCD set pertaining mostly to man, and spider...

My problem is with the third mpg file. It won't play in media player, won't open in TMPGEnc, and when I tried just burning it, the movie plays but is thrown waaay of screen (only about 3 inches on the right of the screen are visible).

I tried muxing it with tmpgenc and I keep getting a buffer underrun error at the same point (about 3/4 the way through). I have 256mb of RDRAM, Gigs of open space, and no other open programs running on WinXP. I have also tried this with a similar machine running win2k. I have downlaoded and installed the VFAPI patch. I have the same exact problem when I attempt to mux the other 2 mpges in the set, but that is not a problem for me since they run fine as is.

I have tried everything I can think of. I have used every mpeg correct tool in the FAQs. I know this set is very popular and all over the p2p networks so I'm sure someone knows how to get around this very annoying problem.

Also, BTW, I have installed the newest DiVX & MPEG2 codecs.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

  2. shaneh0,

You have probably found your answer by doing the standard search of forums, but just incase.....

It looks like the most popular way to correct this problem is to use VCDgear to correct the mpg and then re-encode using DVD2avi and TMPGenc.

Also when muxing in TMPGenc you could try using the "MPEG-2 program (vbr)" as your type, or the "MPEG-2 super videocd (vbr)" or vice-versa, or even try one of the "MPEG-1" settings.

With an incentive like, that i'm surprised you don't have more replies.
But for me, if I have helped you can keep your L/P info, I'm on such a slow connection it would be easier if you just mail me your Hard Drive..

    Hope this helps....

  3. You and I have downloaded the same movie. The first VCD's play just fine, however the 3rd one is a stinker. The reason is is that it is a goofy vid size, in PAL, and most dvd players won't play them. My apex, however, will (bragging, I know).

Anyhow, what you need to do is use convert the VCD back to an mpeg (flask mpeg has an option to do that and takes about 5-10 minutes) file and then use TMPGENC to convert it down to a vcd.

Let me know if you need more direction on this. I can see if I can get a "correct" vcd to you so you wont have to bother with all of the above.

Also, thank you for giving me a clear understanding of the issue. I have been a little disheartened by the way some people post their problems and it was refreshing to get someone that laid it out so it was easy to help.
