  1. well im a nubie to say the least i have a month of reading behind me and posting and hair pulling out. i have a sony vaio pen 4 1.8 512sdram 80 gig winxp with a dvd / cd burne
ne ways its frustrating being a nubie all the terms differing opinions and different systems so let me tell you how i finally got great results easily and affordably.
i first tried a dazzler external that absolutely blew recorded in mpeg 1 and it was slow hard to use and i didnt care for the soft ware, i paid 150.00 bux for this junk i returned it i thought more expensive = better but wrongo!
i got the ati tv wonder ve on a recom. 2 days ago. easy install plugged in and the tv works great i love the vcr feature but i have yet to cap. with it so i cant say there. i did however cap a concert video with it and it sucked lost frames outta synch audio etc. i read up and reconfigured tried drivers and everything i could read and try. on a whim i tried capturing with win movie maker and to my disbelief it was perfect great audio good picture nothing lost at all!
all the bashing of win xp in here but i love it! the ease of movie maker is to me unsurpassed i have premiere and i use it to title effects etc but m maker rules. i then title my capture add effects from movie shaker and premiere save as a dv avi and burn to dvd with great results i add stills and dv from my cam and it flows 2 gether so great im in tears talkin bout it.the tv wonder is a novices dream and i will someday upgrade but 4 now all is great! hope i iwas informative by the way i meant i captured the concert from my vhs vcr im off to play

  2. You got TV Wonder to work on XP in two days? Dude, get yourself a drink - you are a hero
Ok I beat you by about 24 hours, but that included the first real sleepless night in my life. I got the thing to work under Win2000 but boy, does sleep deprivation suck or what? All sorts fo weird stuff flashed in front of my eyes in the morning.

Funny thing is that the picture is crap in MMC and is crystal clear in VirtualDub. Go figure...
