I have a Apex AD-1100W player, I just fomated a VCD on TMPGEnc,
at 704x480 at 2600 bit rate, when played i the above player the audio
is very "jerky", video very slight jerk at same time.
When formated at 704x480 at 2000 bit rate it plays ok.
What am I doing wrong here? VCD at 352x240 is out of the question
very bad quality.
I assume this is a XVCD, what is the maximum bit rate I can use?
Obviously 2600 doesn't work.

Interesting . . . your player should support a higher bitrate than that, but it sounds like it doesn't, and that's why the lower bitrate plays fine.

It basically comes down to how fast your player can read the disc. Most player can handle SVCD bitrates (2520?) but many cant go much above that as they simply can't read the disc fast enough. Experiment to see what your player can handle.

NOTE:
The player will do SVCD at 2600 bit rate.
Maybe it's the resolution and bit rate that doesn't
comprehend in the player ???
Have to play some more. DVD spec for the Apex
AD-11001W shows max out at 3500. ??????
Thanks folks
