  1. I have Ulead 4.0 and it wants the file in AVI DV codec format. How do I get this to happen? Any help really appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Ulead "what Appli." 4.0? VideoStudio?

First, if you camcorder has analog pass-through capacity, such as a Sony D8, you can connect DVD player to your cam's analog A/V input, connect your cam's 1394 port to a firewire card, then capture to your PC. In this case, you need a firewire card installed in your PC.

Otherwise, you can use a standalone D/A convertor, such as Sony mentioned in a thread here or Dazzle Hollywood DV bridge.
