  1. Hi,

I have some AVI files that I would like to split so that they may fit onto several CD-Rs. I capture my video files at resolutions of 720x480, uncompressed. As a result, all of my files are greater than 4 GB.

How can I calculate at which frames to split my original file so as to generate several smaller (650 MB) files? I've attempted using programs such as AVI Split Calculator and AVI Chop, but they don't seem to work with files larger than 4 GB. Are there any calculating programs, equations, or anything of the like that would let me know at which frames to split the AVI videos?

If the original was say 1400, then you would use 1400/700 = 2

Now that you know how many chunks you have, load the AVI, move to the end and make a note of the number of frames, divide that by 2 to get the place to split (X) , in this case it would be the middle, but the same applies for large files.

But cut at the nearest key frame (Back or forward)

    X fist split
    X+X second split

    4000/650 = 6.1

Number of frames divided by 6.1 = X

    0 to X first
X start of next X+X end of second cut
