I have Resident Evil in SVCD format. It is a BIN and CUE file. I burned them to disk and found out that Resident Evil is an SVCD. I cannot play SVCD's on my standalone dvd player. Only VCD's. So now I have an SVCD disk.

So. What I would like to do is take the SVCD disk and convert it to a DIVX or a VCD or both.

I tried looking for a guide for this but din't find one. I also searched the forum and didn't really find anything that did exactly that. I may have missed it. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks.

  2. use isobuster to extract the mpeg from the bin file or CD. Then convert to whatever format you want.
(other tools will do this also)

I use isobuster like bugster suggested (right click on the file and be sure you use the 'Extract M2F2 MPEG-2 frames only' option) and then I use TMPGEnc as per this link
    http://www.geocities.com/newestmoviesencode/dvdvcd

It will allow you to play a SVCD encoded movie on a stand alone player capable of playing only VCD. (well... about 95% of the time)
    Hope this helps
