  1. Hello,

I am using TMPGenc to cut a large SVCD file in two to put on two discs. The first half works fine, burns fine, plays fine. I try to do the second half, and, in using the "merge and cut" option, it first does the audio and video stream, but then when it comes to the multiplexing, the program freezes and never responds.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks.

tmpg is not very good for cutting svcd's. try bbmpeg(avi2mpeg2).look in the tools section.

I've had BBMPEG unsync the audio and video on at least 1 of the 2 segments when cutting with it. Only M2-Edit Pro was able to cut my files correctly and in sync. Unfortunately it costs $600US, so look around and you might find it elsewhere...

  4. are you sure that it hangs ? because it takes more then 2-3 minutes before you could see that he´s working
remember that tmpeg is searching the cutting point were the 2ªpart of the movie begin.
i always use tmpeg to cut/merge/change header and converting avi to vcd/svcd/cvd/xvcd.... and it works fine
    try again and wait...
    good luck

  5. Well, the reason I know it hangs is because the minute the multiplexing begins, everything on that program freezes. I can't minimize it, I can't abort it, nothing. It just freezes there. And then I do a ctrl-alt-delete, and on my window it says TMPGenc (Not Responding).

  7. Netstat iis 100% correct. For some reason it stalls on occasion
and does not respond to DDS (hence the not responding msg under task manager) but it is still working.
