Firmware upgrade?

What is a firmware upgrade for dvd plyaers and where/how do you get one?

Firmware upgrade is like upgrading your BIOS. After the upgrade one might have new options in menus or just have fixed some playback problem issues. The upgrades can be downloaded and have to be burned onto a CDR/RW in order to be able to feed the upgrade for your player. I'm only aware of Philips DVD upgrades (http://www.euroservice.pfr.philips.com/assistance/dvd/sommaire.htm) as I'm having a Philips player, but I guess upgrades for most other brands are available too.

Sorry hairyjerry, there is not a firmware upgrade available for your Mintek 2580. I looked on their site.
