I want to burn 2 or 3 movies onto one dvd-r using two 5.1 (or maybe one of them 2.0) ac3 tracks. Picture quality isn't an issue;Sound is more important.

My idea, how to reach this goal:
I rip the dvd with smart ripper/dvd-decrypter, generate demuxed files for m2v and the audio tracks.
I somehow (TMPGEnc) reencode the m2v file to smaller size (10%).
I author/burn the files with DVD Impression/ReelDVD (I am currently testing both proggies)

My problem:
It seems difficult to get a working direct show filter to reencode m2v files with TMPEGEnc. I tried Reempeg but the file produced was really bad quality. With TMPEGEnc I get surprisingly good results. Only problem is, the produced m2v file isn't as long as the ac3 tracks. I think it's a result of the direct show filter. Everytime I play a m2v file, I get a wrong duration of the movie. One m2v file should play 93 minutes, every proggie shows 51 minutes - the movie is complete anyway.

Is the path I walk OK? Any suggestions?

BTW: Please don't blame me with: buy your dvds and so on. I am buying every DVD and have over 300. All I want to do, burn some concert dvds on one disc with full sound and low picture quality or burn some movies with mandatory subtitles, without subtitles (in europe there are some discs).

Thanks in advance.
