  2. I just read something like this at the Kwag forums. You may want to try a program called BBmpeg and use it to break up the file.

    Available here: http://members.cox.net/beyeler/bbmpeg.html

I haven't used the program myself, but I plan to in the next few hours. From what I understand, TMPEGenc doesn't do a very good job of splitting files. I've never had a problem when selecting specific source ranges, whether its starting at the beginning or middle or whatever, but I guess that's not what you're doing. You already have an encoded MPEG, right? I'm talking about changing the source range while encoding from the actual source, like an AVI or something. I've always dumped encodes when they ended up too big, but that isn't very often.

That's all I got. Someone else may be able to actually give tips regarding TMPEGenc.

  6. Try using VCDgear or some similar programme to repair the MPG file before splitting. TMPGEnc seems tempermental this way. Any errors and it just stops---no message---nothing.

You have a bad .mpg and the split wont work, it reaches the bad spot and stops. The best you can do is try to re-encode it again with TMPGEnc and hope it deals with the problem.

Depending on how bad the problem is, sometimes you can cut up to the bad spot, the again after it with the source range.
