  1. I have a vhs screener in vcd format the quality is good bu blocky at times. If i was to reencode the files to say dvd mpegs would it improve the blocks or am i just being a dick? Would i stay the same as the source?? Thanks guys.

    don't be a dick
    you would be incredibly lucky to reencode a crap source and keep the same quality. if you think it's blocky now...try to reencode a small section and see what you get back.
