I have been playing SVCD's for quite some time now with my Cyber Home AD-M512 player. I know it's not the most expensive player around but it has played everything fine until now.
About the last 5 or 6 SVCD's I have played have stalled or paused usually at the start of a CD for a few seconds. The picture sometimes goes a bit strange and then they play fine for the rest of the CD maybe with the odd little stutter. I don't understand this as before I could play any SVCD without a single problem all the way through a CD.
I am using the same brand of CDR I always did and I am sure it's not the player as I have played older SVCD's and DVD's with no problem.
I am no expert in VCD/SVCD encoding but could it be that my player can not handle the way newer SVCD's are being encoded (I don't encode them myself). I have also been reading other posts about updating firmware on my player but I am not sure where to start or whether this would even help my problem.
Sorry for the long post but any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
