About 6 months ago, i purchased a Pioneer DV-333, primarily to play my VCD/SVCD movies on. I later acquired a Pioneer DV-A04, and began burning DVDs all over the place. I started out using Maxell DVD-R discs, and later switched to Meritline discs, which are much cheaper. Every DVD i burned played flawlessly... until a few days ago.
Now, my burned DVDs skip, stutter, lose sync, and all kinds of other shit. Even DVDs i've watched before have begun doing this. A movie i watched less than a week ago, with no problems at all, suddenly can't get through the first coupld of chapters without screwing up.
This is only happening with burned DVDs. VCDs and SVCDs, as well as commercial DVDs are still playing fine. The problems are only occurring with DVDs i have burned.
I'm not exactly sure what has happened, but it's starting to look like i may need to get a new DVD player. If that is the case, i know i want to stick with the Pioneer players. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which Pioneer model i should upgrade to? Or better yet, does anyone know of steps i can take to try and figure out what happened to the model i already have?
