  1. OK, i dl a movie off the net its in mpeg format. I burned it and tried to play it on my dvd player and it didnt work so is there anyway i can convert mpeg to a vcd mpeg?

    For Mpeg to VCD or SVCD use TMPGE.

    You need to use burning software which will specifically burn your mpg to VCD format. One such prog is Nero. If Nero accepts the mpg using the VCD option and the resultant CD will not play - then your DVD player either doesn't like the make of disc, or is not compatible with VCD. I have burned 100s of VCDs with nero, and if the mpg has been accepted by Nero, it inevitably produced a working VCD.

    BTW, I'm assuming you are talking about a VCD mpg 352x240(288)rather than a SVCD mpg(480x480(576). Otherwise you have to burn to SVCD or convert to VCD mpg first.
