    can people tell me why when i open DVDx i get an error say "A device attached to the sysytem is not funsctioning"
    Error Strating Program
    The DVDX.EXE file is linked to missing export DSOUND>DLL:11
    can you guys tell me what to do

    I ran into this once...

    I seem to remember that Windows was having trouble identifying my DVD rom drive. I had to download an update to my motherboard drivers (related to the EIDE disk controllers).

    Try putting the DVD into the drive and browsing it with Windows Explorer. If it runs into trouble then check your motherboard drivers.

    I also seem to remember one of my not-so-bright buddies getting this message when he installed DVDx on a PC that only had a CD-Rom drive and NO DVD drive! In that case I think the programmer did a good job of trapping the error but just couldn't imagine the user could be so clueless, so he didn't write the error message to fit.
