  1. When I burn a svcd I can see the still menus on the pc dvd player but not on my stand-alone player (Pioneer DVR 444).
I'm using TMPGenc 2.53, VCDeasy 1.1.0 to generate the still menus and to author and either Nero or CDrwin or CloneCD (with Daemon Tools) or Cdrdao to burn the image.

  2. Your standalone dvd player probably doesnt support VCD menus.

  3. I own the same player and i found out that the menus generated with VCDEasy or TSCV don't work on it.
Now i prepare a mpg menu from a bmp with TMPGenc.
Version 2.0 work with the standard template, you feed the bmp in input and obtain the mpg in output.
With higher releases the file comes out very small and it's unplayable by the Windows Media Player.
But if you take the standard SVCD template, unlock it, raise the CBR bitrate up to 20.000 or 25.000, the menu is now usable.
VCDEasy says it is not valid but VCDImager accept it and in the end the DV444 plays it.
I hope i have been clear, though the subject is quite tricky.
