I have a problem when I encode divx files to XSVCD at <1800 bitrate using TMPGEnc 2.56 because it would pause at some moments every 10-30 seconds. Anything >1800 works great. This only shows up when I play it on the computer, I tested the same process of encoding and playing on another computer, same thing. But, when I stick it in my DVD player, it's fine, no pauses. When I re-encode, the pauses would be in another place or sometime in the same place. I tried it with many other DivX files, same results.

Another thing is some of my DivX files have VBR audio, which caused it to lag after a few minutes of watching or pause and speed up after I encode it to VCD/SVCD, I did seperate the audio from video, still same thing. I used VirtualDub and NanDub, both didn't help.

I solved the 2nd problem, all I had to do was not set Compression > Sampling Rate in VirtualDub to "44100Hz". I had to leave it on "No Change" and then encode it in TMPGEnc as 44100Hz.

Can anyone solve the 1st problem, I tried using v2.55, but the problem was worst. Maybe it's a bug in TMPGEnc and v2.56 fixed more of it.

Bah, no one knows the answer. I give up after 2+ weeks of messing around, if it plays perfectly on my DVD player, then that's all I can do then. If my friend's DVD can't play my XSVCD, and tries to play it on the computer and it pauses, oh well then,
