  1. I am not sure why the subject line to my question is not vueable in the forum, and hence probably the reply that I recieved!
My question is simple - is there a way to add subtitles to mpg format without first reencoding it to avi.
I had a DiVX file which even after using the methods mentioned in the how to's for Newbies, had an Audio Synchronization problem. Rather than give up on the file I transformed it slowly by cutting and fixing the sync section by section until I had a completed synchronized mpg file. ( A good couple of hours work since the beginning 15 minutes would sync and then the sync would slowly become worse and worse until there was no sync whatsoever!) After fighting with the file for a week I finally achieved my goal.
Unfortunately I have family members who do not speak English and the request was made to add subtitles. Obiously had this been done at the outset then the Newbie help me's would have helped, but in lew of the fact that the sync was so problematic, I am hesitant to go back to AVI.

So I again ask (perhaps nievely) can subtitles be added to mpg format?
