burning mpeg 4

Hi!

I´m a real newbie to video conversion and I hope you´ll be able to help me.
I´ve downloaded a movie, which has the format mpeg 4. Tried to simply drag it into nero(tried both vcd and svcd), but it just stops encoding after a while and nothing happens.
How do I go about burning this format so that I´ll be able to play it in my DVD recorder?

I´d be grateful for some help.

might have to re-encode it into a mpeg1 (vcd) or mpeg2 (svcd). try Tmpgenc, i think it supports mpeg4... you can use that to convert to mpeg1 or mpeg2.
