    Hi List,

This is my first post. I can't believe how useful this site is.

Anyhow, I'm trying to author my first dvd with some anime that I have in avi format. I was able to get everything working, but when I play the dvd on my ps2, the playback is a bit jittery every 30-60 seconds. Like it hesitates for a sec. Here's what I did:

    1. Convert AVI to MPEG2 using TMPEnc 2.56. After checking the MPEG file that it generated, the movie plays back well on my computer (no jitters).
    2. Authored using Ulead Movie Factory
    3. Burned to both DVD-R and DVD-RW using an A04 from Movie Factory

So my question is - what settings should I adjust to get rid of the jitters in playback? Again, the source mpeg2 plays without jitters so I'm assuming that it's happening when the Ulead is converting the files to DVD.

Any help would be great -

    Thanks!

  2. What template did you use when encoding with TMPGEnc?

    Hi PlaiBoi,

    I used:

    - CBR 3000kbps 120min/4.7gb
    - Average video bitrate: 3000kbits/sec

Those are the only two settings that I adjusted. Does that answer your question? Would you mind sending over a template that you use for avi -> mpeg conversion?

    Thanks.

  4. did you use the DVD template? SVCD template? The problem may be that your not making standard DVDs and so your ps2 cant play it right.
