When I play my DVD-R in my pc and my standalone the video seems to go fast forward for a couple of secs at about 10 sec intervals. also my audio is way out. This maybe because of the video or a seperate problem.
I have a Pioneer 104.
I started with 2 downloaded avi files, I used audiodub to save the wav file, I then used Tmpg to encode to dvd at 2000 cbr (which would allow me to get 2 movies on 1 DVD-R), I encoded NTSC as that was the same as the source file and set it to Highest Quality. (I used the WAV file as my Audio source)
I checked the MPGs with Power DVD and they seemed fine.
I used Ulead Moviefactory to author and write the DVD-R, I inserted a simple menu for the start of each movie.
Please help guys I nagged my wife for months for this writer and if I don't get it to work you are reading a message from a DEAD MAN.
Sorry about the size of post, I wanted to give as much info as possible.

Is the standard where you live PAL???? I don't have experience with DVD writers (my wife has formed the ability to tune my nagging out after many years of marriage), but it sounds like when you formatted and encoded the movie, it was set to the correct resolution, bit rate, etc.
What was the source resolution file (320x 240, 480x480??) and the audio settings for the source.
What did you burn/convert it to
Does your DVD player play DVD-R's (go to a site that has a test file to burn a DVD R with and try it out to make sure it isn't your settings)
when you said that it essentially skips and what not, from the CDR world, that means that the format of the CD won't fly in the DVD player (I did spiderman in PAL format and nobody elses DVD player can play them except my apex). -
Right, here is what I have found!! After many hours banging my head against my monitor.
Ulead is showing the movies shorter than they actually are!!
It appears that it is trying to squeeze 3h 43m of movies into 2h 55m of space which it thinks the total length is.
In Ulead you can check the properties and it states it is field B. If I am right It should be field A first. Hopefully this will sort my problem?
Can anyone tell me is there a quck way of changing the field priority?
I tried to load the mpg back into Tmpg but it said file was unsupported (I am confused as it made the file). Is there another way to get Tmpg to re-encode the file or do I have to download the avi files again (some idiot deleted them)
