  1. The ECS315 TV OUT

I just bought one of these cards and got it to work on my pc. Needless to say I am not going back to PCI cards anytime soon . But I can't get the Windows Media player videos to display on the tv. When I play them they show on the monitor but not on the TV. Has anyone ever had this problem and do they know how to solve it. I've got a lot of Divx movies that I want to be able to watch on my tv screen. Thanks so much.

I'm not familiar with your card, and I can't tell from your post if you get no display on your TV at all, but I happened to use my TV-out on my card last night and learned something new. After connecting the S-video cable, I enabled the TV-out in the Advanced Settings and received my computer display on my camcorder. But when I played an AVI file with Windows Media Player I didn't get the video displayed on my camcorder. I could see the workbench screen, the window frame of Media Player, but nothing was showing in the window frame. It was just blank. However, my computer monitor displayed things exactly the same as on the camcorder but also displayed the video playing within the window frame. After fooling with the advanced settings of the card (Radeon 8500) I found that I had to select the TV as the primary display in order to display the video. It had something to do with different layers of the display. My previous cards with TV-out didn't function like that. Usually they displayed the exact same image that was on my monitor, no layers involved.

  4. I took your advice and it worked so now I can view all my windows media files on the TV. However I did end up with a weird glitch today. I was playing a few videos on Media Player in a playlist on repeat. Well all of a sudden the video was playing on BOTH the TV and Monitor. After a while it stopped and wouldn't do it anymore but I did find it weird. I'll try to see if I can get it to work like this again soon. Thanks for the help and any other ideas would be appreciated.
