  1. I made a VCD using Nero 5.5 on cdRW and now that I finished watching it, I can't erase it. I tried quick erase and full erase.

I don't want to waste my RWs if I can't delete it anyway I might as well use a R disk instead.

  2. I can erase mine with Nero. You may have a bad CDRW.

  3. Thanks RF. I guess I'll try again and hope I don't have anymore bad RW.

I have the same problem, could it be that the Finalize cd checkmark is already greyed in when I go to make my cds's on cdrw's? If this is the problem how do I change it?

  5. The 'finalize cd' just means it closes the recording session. It will not effect the ability to erase a CDRW.

Do you get an error message?

  6. I've had that problem with Nero too. I'm not sure what causes it but odds are your CD-RW is fine. Try erasing it with DirectCD or CDRWin, works like a charm.

I don't really know what I did. All I know that I did do, was defragment my hard drive, and shut off most of my running programs. I then ran Nero, and erased the Cdrw successfully!? Direct cd is not even installed on my system, so I know it can't be the problem. Weird..

  8. nero is just plain fubar on erasing cdrw's IMO. Remember the early release you couldn't even do a quick erase.
