  1. I rember a few months ago I went through the steps to convert SVCD to VCD and was able to watch a movie and was amazed that the Dolby Digital light came on, on the receiver. I just recently tried converting another cd and nothing happend. The receiver is playing prologic and not dolby digital. I then went to my hard drive and dug up the first movie and tried recreating the vcd and the receiver plays it in Prologic mode.

Can some one help me with this problem.

    Thanks

  2. I dont know how you managed it previously but VCD format does NOT support Dolby Digital Audio. If somehow you made a non-compliant (X)VCD with an AC3 track and you managed to play it, then great but VCD compliant discs do NOT support DD. Dolby prologic is a different matter. In this case the surround info is somehow mixed in to the two stereo channels which a decoder can then seperate out. So any stereo soundtrack can support dolby prologic.

    Hope this helps
