I have attempted to follow all of the instructions in the "How to Frameserve" forum.

I downloaded and installed the recommended software and plugins. Still, when trying to open my frameserve file (created in VDub) in TMPGEnc, I get the error message: "The process entry point ThunkConnect32 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll".

    PC, Win 2000

I am not sure what I am missing.

  2. Under Environment settings in TMPGEnc, make sure to disable the Directshow filters. That may help.

Thanks, Aguillon. This did make a change. Now I get the error message: "The dynamic link library MSVCR70.dll could not be found in the specified path..." etc. However, the path seems unlikely to me, so I will do a search for the dll and report back. (There are multiple paths listed, some of which lead to undesired software. I'll try putting this dll in the favored location, and see if I get results.)

    It also says: "File/
(frameserve filename)" can not open or is unsupported. A search states that "MSVCR70.dll" is nowhere on my computer. Is this something I need to download?

    Hi,

The dynamic link library MSVCR70.dll could not be found
This is a Microsoft DLL that is usually provided as part of the "install" by each software vendor. For whatever reason, TMPGEnc chooses not to ship it; but its recent versions require this newer version of the dll.

Doing a search here (all forums) or a web search should find it; but if you know anybody with Office installed, you can get it from them. I don't know which module includes it or which version of Office ships version 7 (xxxxx70) so you'll have to look.

  5. I've solved the problem with the missing MSVCR70.dll by doing a little online search.

I found the file included in a little program called BootXP. I simply downloaded and installed the program. Un-installed in again. Left in the folder for BootXP was the MSVCR70.dll, which I moved over to my TMPGEnc folder.

After that TMPGEnc runs like a charm with frameserver

You can download BootXP WITH MSVCR70.dll on this adress: http://www.bootxp.net/download.htm

  7. This seems to be a popular topic...

I ad the same problem: Tmpeg used to work ok, then suddenly didn't , so I recreated the .d2v file. However I found out what the real problem was... I shifted the files into another folder, which causes Tmepeg to give that error message. So in case you have moved or renamed the folder, you will also get that error message.

    Problem solved!

I disabled Direct X, then downloaded and installed "BootXP", then moved the "MSVCR70.dll" into the TMPGEnc folder. That was it! Now, Frameserve behaves as desired.

    Thanks everyone!
