recording back to minidv tape

i have no problem capturing video from my Sony DCR-TRV18 and editing it with Ulead Video Studio. But every time i choose to record back to the camera, it doesn't work. it goes through the whole rendering process and the lcd screen on the camera even shows the red record icon during that time, but all i get is a blue screen. sorry if this is a stupid question, but i'm pretty new to this. thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure if this will help but here goes. Irecently bought a Canon MV500i. The "i" stands for "DV in". Not all camcorders will allow you to put the video back on to your camera. Also there should be a menu to switch between AV out and DV in. Hope it works out for you and sorry I couldn't be of more help.
