    Hey People:

    I'm looking for a standalone software ac-3 encoder that will convert .wav to .ac3. I know Sonic Foundry's SoftEncode did this, but it's not available anymore, and I don't want to download the 30 day trial.

    So, anyone have any recommendations? I know there's one by Nuendo that runs about $800 USD. Is there anything cheaper? Or free?
