  1. When ripping a DVD most of the time I get a VOB / Mpeg file that is corrupt. In MediaPlayer f.e. total time displayed is 47783:23:14 hours...

I use either Clad DVD XP or Smartripper 2.41. The result is the same. Only when reencoding the file with ReMpeg, I will get the correct time and only then I can use it in Tmpeg.

I use a DVD writer Philips 100 on a Pentium IV with XP (1.8 Ghz, 80 GB HD, 512 MB RAM).

    Who can help me out??

Are you opening the VOB directly in Tmpeg? Tmpeg will stop encoding a VOB prematurely.

  3. Well the problem is there even before doing anything in TMpeg. Why do I get this strange total time displayed already in Mediaplayer?
Tmpeg also refuses the m2v files, I think due to this corrupt total time...

Media Player displaying odd times is not un-usual,it's normal. You should be using Power DVD or similar DVD software player. Tmpeg's inability to open an .m2v indicates that you installed some other video processing software after Tmpeg was install it has altered the windows registry and it's prventing Tmpeg from opening files. Why is proper time display important,is the whole file there?

  5. Proper time is not important to me, but Tmpeg stops encoding those files where the time display is incorrect. So basically I assume there is a link there. I can f.e. not edit these files in the editing tools provided by Tmpeg. When encoding, it will encode for 1 second then stop.

By the way thanks for your help!
