  1. Hi,
I’m currently looking for a new capture card. So far these are my options:

    SNAZZI III @ £235
Dazzle DVS200 @ Unknown (ive been told this is the same card as the Snazzi III, is that correct?)
    Dazzle DVC2 @ £165

I want to use the card to capture TV programs from Sky Digital at DVD quality, then edit out the adverts, and write to DVDR.

Any opinions from ppl that have used any of these cards would be appreciated. At the moment im leaning towards the DVC2, as I have used one before, and was quite impressed.

    I have the following questions:
    - Is the Snazzi III any good? worth the extra money? suitable for my purpose?

    - What about the DVS200? any good? suitable for my purpose? how much does it cost? Where could I buy it from? (UK)

    - Is there another card I should consider?

  2. ok.. here goes...

I believe that the Snazzi comes in a few flavors: USB and PCI. The DCS 200 (not DVS 200) is a USB device. I had major problemos with this device. I tried everything that I could get it to cap without interlacing like mad. I see on another post that M$ just released a patch to fix intermittant problems with DirectX 8.1 on AMD machines using WinXP. This is my config. Unfortunately, I returned the DCS 200 and got my moolah back. I have a DVC-2 on the way but am nervous about the functionality of it on my system.. Guess we'll see.

I haven't the foggiest idea where in the UK you get go see these products. I live in the US. But, I do beleive that on www.snazzi.com there is a list of retailers that sell it. Just tell it to look in the UK.

    Good Luck.

    Sod out...
