I recommend looking at sharkeyextreme's "Value Gaming PC value guide":
Then hopefully people here can tell you a value oriented capture means. I would try to find someone's recommendations for a cheap firewire card and think about buying a DV camcorder like the Canon ZR40 to do your captures (through it's analog to digital "pass through" If you want a guide to spend even more money then look at their latest "High end" or "Extreme" Guides at:
. But I think if your spending more $ on a PC than their value guide than your spending too much.

I like the DV camcorder "feed thru" idea because you get a hardware-to-hardware capture (superior to PC based captures) and a much more versatile product than a computer capture card.

Hope this is a good baseline for you. Good luck.

  3. hmm,I am sorry for posting the wrong question. What I mean by video editting is plainly for adding special effects onto the video stuff. I plan to self study on adobe aftereffects, and dabble in some photoshop and 3d animation stuff.
