I usually inline my subtitles when I make SVCDs, but last night I decided to attempt to make a true "standard" svcd with 2 subtitle tracks (english and chinese). The subtitles extracted from the VOB ok, even MUXed okay into the MPEG.
My problem is that, having lost my standalone DVD player (a nice pioneer 5 disc DVD/VCD/CD with 5.1 amp built in) to the pawn shop, I have only got software (winDVD, and PowerDVD) to play from. And upon loading up my disk, i discovered..... no subtitle selections were available.
I need these subs (the ausio is in japanese, and I am very very canadian). Is there ANY way, short of buying a new standalone (and a TV, ,and a new stereo) that I can enjoy my SVCDs with full selectable subtitles on a PC-based viewer?
I really hope so.
Thanks.
