Hey people , I'm currently in need of an answer, i currently own a CDRW drive HP 9100 drive.... it does it's jobBut now wanting to upgrade and buy a DVD burner, wondering would i be able to write to a DVD media using my HP burner??

You mean your CDRW drive writing to a DVDR/RW? No it cant do that, although a DVDRW can write to a CDR. Some CDRW drives are also DVDROM drives meaning they can burn CDs and READ cds,cdr,cdrw,DVD. Drives are backward compatible not forward.
