  1. I have experimented by saving a 5 min clip edited in Premiere in a variety of avi codecs and then encoding the clips using cce sp 2.64 using a cbr of 8000 and Tmpenc also.
I have also encoded the same clip directly from the Premiere timeline using the latest plugins from Procoder and Ligos using the same settings for all encoders.
On a small screen the picture quality is similar. However, on my 56" widescreen the plugins (Procoder edging out Ligos) looks great, while the cce and tmpg look a little grainy and blocky. Not to clear.
So I assume the extra step involved with cce degrades the video quality enough for it to be noticable on a big screen. I think overall that cce is a good encoder but is there anyway I can send the complete movie from the Premiere timeline to cce without having to save the file (if you know what I mean). I tried mainconcepts codec with no improvement.
    Thanks

  3. Sometimes it's hard to see the trees for the forest.
    Thanks Valentin. Good reading there.
I installed the cce demo sometime ago, before I bought Premiere, so I installed it as a standalone encoder. I will re-install as a plugin and try again.

  4. OK, I could have told you that.

But since you're using CCE, I have one question. You might help me. I have a problem with the settings described at the URL I gave you, I described it on another post on this forum (see the post "avisynth from premiere to TMPGEnc : transitions become jerky" in the same section). Do you have the same problem with CCE ?

    Thanks for the help.

  6. That's OK, I found a parameter in premiere that was wrong.

    Thanks anyway.
