i will try again, is it correct to put the track pregap line immediately after the <videocd> tag?

now the .cue is as follows
FILE "videocd.bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 00 00:04:00
INDEX 01 00:06:02
TRACK 03 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 00 00:56:20
INDEX 01 00:58:22
TRACK 04 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 00 01:48:40
INDEX 01 01:50:42
Also track sizes fireburner / vcdxbuild compared are :
Track 1 : Fireburner = 705600 bytes / vcdxbuild = 705600
Track 2 : 9219840 / 8862336
Track 3 : 9219840 / 8862336
Track 4 : 9219840 / 8862336
I.e. the vcdxvbuild output in cdrdao mode seems to be the same as before, however the .cue file and fireburner output have changed.
Do you need that I burn this to check the TOC? -

no, not necessary...
it's vital, that you use the 152-pregap option to match the hardwired pregap length created by toast, otherwise the sector references contained in the vcd control files are displaced...
btw, can you start updating the guide(s) about using vcdimager/binchunk? prior to now, it was not possible to create SVCD's with correct sector addresses...
ps: the cdrdao output changed in two ways, 1. some bytes in the first track will have changed, since the pregaps have changed; 2. the pregap files will have become larger by 2*2352 bytes...

vcdimager for macos; not that easy... maybe when the rewrite to C++ has been done... the problem is, that under macos there's nothing like a command line application... you have to wrap it into a GUI, and the libvcd backend is not ready for this yet... </BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR size=1 color=black></TD></TR></TABLE>
The Metrowerks Codewarrior C++/Pascal/Java development environment for mac allows for command line input/output (by using the 'SIOUX' library - the result is a pretty Unix-like command line) :
