  1. i downloaded an mpg in 2 pieces and used this tutorial http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm to cut it into pieces and then eventually fit them back together on 3 cd's...sounds confusing, but i think everything went well there...so i went to burn the first part onto a cd and it stopped me and said that the audio bitrate of 128 kbits/s would probably be okay, but that the video bitrate of 1246 kbits/s isnt acceptable... what can i do to change the bitrate or something on the mpg...i think that it was originally ripped from a dvd then converted into mpg. is there anything that i can do??...thanks for your help

What its telling you is the source is not a fully compliant VCD mpeg, if you chose to ignore this you could end up with a coster.

Your DVD player "may" only play compliant VCD's it may play SVCD's.

So you need to use TMPGENC and one of the VCD templates to fix the problem by re-encoding it again.

I suspect you're using Easy CD Creator to bunn. Try Nero or NTI Cd-Maker. Both of those programs allow burning of non-standard VCD or SVCD.

If it is Easy CD Creator (VCD Creator) you can select "Add anyway" to add non standard mpegs. Ignoring the warning and producing a non standard VCD could render this disk useless.
